How to connect to a remote Computer on Mac OS

  1. Launch the App Store
  2. Search for and download Microsoft Remote Desktop
  3. Once downloaded, launch the application and locate the +button
  1. Select “Add PC” to add the remote computer information
    1. In the PC Name field, type in the IP Address or DNS name of the computer
    2. Select the appropriate option under Username Account and fill in the details if needed
    3. Click and scroll to the PC in the Connection Center windows.
    4. Right-click and select Connect or double the PC to connect
    5. The connection configuration is saved automatically on the application
  1. To use multiple monitors
    1. Go to the Display tab
    2. Check mark the “Use all monitors” option
    3. There are other options to select on this tab that will depend on the user’s preference
    4. Click Add or Save to save the PC configuration settings
  1. To use Local resources
    1. Go to the Devices & Audio tab
    2. Select the Devices needed by the remote PC
    3. Click Add or Save 
  1. A PC’s configuration can be changed by:
    1.  Right-clicking on the PC
    2. Select Edit
    3. Or clicking the pencil icon on the PC
